The natural assumption would be that there’s no way the 2021 Daytona Rally can be topped, what with turning the entire town of Mosselbaai into a street circuit, and a vehicle turnout that reads like a bucket list. But yet … in a week-long event that it is sure to top its previous one in memorability, the 2023 Daytona Rally will combine the finest in supercar lifestyle: from smashing a record as the biggest supercar rally in the southern hemisphere, to out-of-this-world travel experiences, and even an inspirational charity component.
The Ozow Daytona Rally promises spectacle, speed, and pure adrenaline as the six-day long event takes off on the 15th of June at Kyalami. The event will see sixty of the best supercars in SA drive over 1,500 km of scenic South African road that runs through three provinces, each stop along the way set to compete with the next. From the hills and valleys of the Drakensberg mountains, to beach-side attractions, the OzowDR23 itinerary reads like a 7-star travel brochure.
The rally provides owners with the opportunity to not only limitlessly enjoy their supercars, but to also to explore some of the best roadways that our beautiful country has to offer. The event begins at the Kyalami circuit with a morning race on the track and the convoy then proceeds to end the evening and the first day off in Clarens, in the Free State. From there, the rally heads to Drakensburg, Umhlanga, Durban, and back up to Hoedspruit, allowing entrants to see the country in a way they never have before.
While last year lent the experience of cross-country driving from PE to CT, the rally aims to step things up this year, so far up, in fact, that it will take to the skies. As if the breath-taking sights weren’t already enough to grab your attention, this year the event promises a private charter that takes entrants from the coast, inland to Hoedspruit, while the supercars are trucked across the country to meet them there.
Entrants can expect to see a number of exclusive events for each leg of the rally, including an Afrika Burn launch party, a comedy evening, a Spicy Mermaid party, an AmaPiano party, and a Greek Lumo toga party.

This year the Daytona Rally is sponsored by automated EFT specialist Ozow, which has led to the event being dubbed OzowDR23. Through the automated transaction system, a new element of competition will be established with entrants nominating a charity of their choice and challenging each other to raise the most money for that charity by the end of the race.
It's not all about the metal and pristine shine when it comes to the car community. The OzowDR23 event wants to show the pure heart and emotion that this community puts into people as well. When the tires hit the road, it’s not about who comes out on top, but rather who can give the most to those who need it most. With big engines, come even bigger hearts.
Ozow’s technological capabilities allow smartphone donations through automated software for entrants and members of the public to donate to their charity of choice with a unique QR code given to each driver. This will allow for digital donations to be made seamlessly. Facilitating donations on such a large scale ensures that it will be the largest charitable rally race in the southern hemisphere.
This year’s R159 999.00 entry fee includes a team on a sharing basis with 1 car. Contact +27 82 969 9129 or email mark@phoenixevents.org for more booking information. Stay ahead of the trends and visit the rally’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
